We built the QR tool we wished existed

The problem was embarrassingly simple: every time a landing page URL changed, we'd have to reprint the campaign materials that had the QR code on them. For a busy agency running multiple campaigns, that meant wasted money and delayed launches constantly.

We looked at the existing tools. They were either too expensive for what they offered, buried important features behind enterprise sales processes, or just… ugly. The experience of creating and managing QR codes felt like it belonged to 2012.

So we built Unqode SmartQR. Dynamic QR codes from day one, an analytics dashboard that actually told you something useful, and a design customiser that didn't require a graphic designer. We put it on a landing page expecting a few signups from people who knew us.

We're a small, focused team building this alongside the rest of Unqode's product suite. We don't take VC money because we don't want to optimise for growth metrics over product quality. Every decision we make is based on what makes Unqode SmartQR more useful for the people who rely on it — whether that's a single-location café owner or a marketing team running a multi-city campaign.
