Every QR code in your dashboard shows one of three statuses — Active, Paused, or Draft — and knowing what each one actually does (and doesn't do) to a printed code matters more than it might seem.
Pausing a QR code
- 1Go to Dashboard → QR Codes.
- 2Open the row's ··· menu, or open the code itself, and toggle it — a Paused code shows an "Active" or "Paused" state right in the list.
- 3The change is immediate: anyone scanning a Paused code sees an inactive message instead of the destination, and re-activating it later brings the exact same printed code straight back to life.
Bulk activate or pause
Select multiple codes with the checkboxes in the list, and a floating action bar appears at the bottom of the screen with dedicated Activate and Pause buttons (plus Delete) — there's no single combined "toggle" button; activating and pausing are two distinct actions so you can't accidentally flip a mixed selection the wrong way.
When a code pauses itself automatically
- An expiry date passes
- A scan limit is reached
- Your account downgrades and the code's QR type is no longer available on the new plan
Pausing vs deleting — these are not the same thing
Deleting a QR code removes it and its entire scan history permanently, and the redirect URL stops resolving for good. Pausing is almost always the better default — you keep the analytics history, and reactivating later takes one click. If you're near your plan's QR code limit, check the live count shown in your dashboard rather than assuming Paused codes don't count against it; they still do.
