What happens on day 15
QR Code Generator's free offering is a 14-day trial — their own pricing page frames it as "your first 14 days are on us", after which continuing requires a paid plan. If you've printed a dynamic code during the trial, the trial ending is a deadline attached to something physical you've already handed out.
Unqode SmartQR's free plan has no countdown. 3 dynamic QR codes and unlimited static ones, indefinitely, with 500 tracked scans a month. If you never upgrade, the codes keep working — passing the scan limit only stops us counting, it never deactivates a code.
Where they're ahead: they advertise 22 QR code types to our 17, and their mid tier includes unlimited scans. If you need a type we don't have, that's a real reason to pick them.
