A business card that gets their details back, not just hands over yours
Every digital card can share your info. This is the part that most competitors' cards skip entirely: a short form right on the card page that captures the other person's name and contact details, before they scan away.
Sharing a link only moves information in one direction. You hand over your number, they save it (maybe), and whether anything happens next is entirely up to them.
Lead capture flips that around. Underneath your card is a short form — name, email, an optional message — that the other person can fill in themselves, right there on the page they just scanned to. They don't need your card at all to leave you theirs.
This matters most in exactly the situations where paper cards, and even plain shareable links, quietly fail: anywhere you meet more people in an hour than you could realistically follow up with from memory. A trade show booth, a conference badge, the far end of a client meeting. The form does the remembering for you.
“A link moves your info outward. This is the part that brings something back.”
How it actually works
What happens when someone scans your card
They scan the QR code, or open the link
No app needed — it opens like any web page, showing your name, title, photo, and everything else on your card.
They see a short form on the same page
Name, email, and an optional message. It sits right on your card — they don't need to leave the page or hunt for a way to contact you.
They submit it — no account required
It's a plain, anonymous web form. There's no sign-up, no app download, nothing to install on their end.
It lands in your Leads tab
Dashboard → Business Cards → Leads. If it's a team card, every teammate's submissions land in the same aggregated list, not scattered across everyone's phones.
The actual difference
Not the same as just sharing a link
Just sharing a link
- They open the link and see your details.
- They can save your contact if they want to.
- That's the whole interaction — anything after that depends entirely on them remembering to follow up.
- You have no record that they even opened it, beyond an anonymous scan count.
Card with lead capture
- They open the same card and see your details.
- They can still save your contact.
- They can also leave their name, email, and a message — in the same visit.
- You get an actual lead in your dashboard, even if they never text or email you first.
Where this is genuinely useful
Anywhere you meet a lot of new people and normally lose the follow-up
Trade show booths
A booth QR code gets scanned all day by people who'll forget your name by lunch. With lead capture on the card, you don't need them to remember — they leave their details right there, and you walk away from the show with a list instead of a stack of half-remembered conversations.
Conference badges and lanyards
Print the QR code on your badge. Anyone who scans it during a conference can save your contact and leave theirs in the same motion, without either of you juggling phones or typing a number into a stranger's contacts app between sessions.
Sales reps in client meetings
Hand over your card at the end of a meeting, and the lead form is right there if they want to flag interest, ask for a follow-up, or leave a note before you've even left the building — instead of a business card going straight into a drawer.
Anywhere you meet a lot of people at once
Networking events, panels, campus recruiting, a market stall — anywhere the number of new people you meet outpaces your ability to manually note down who wants a follow-up. The form does that noting-down for you.
Plan requirement
Lead capture is a Business plan feature
It comes as part of Digital Business Cards on the Business plan, along with bulk team creation. It's not available on Free or Pro, and there's no way to add just this piece on its own.
Questions
Common questions about lead capture
The Business plan, specifically — lead capture is not available on Free or Pro, and there's no separate add-on for it. If you're evaluating whether it's worth the upgrade, this page is meant to help you decide; the honest answer is it depends on whether you're regularly meeting new people you'd otherwise lose the follow-up with.
