UX Audit

Stop guessing.
Start fixing.

Most audits give you 40 pages of observations. We give you a severity-rated list of exactly what to fix first — annotated screenshots, a 90-day roadmap, a debrief call. Delivered in 5–7 days.

Sound familiar?

You know something is wrong. You just can't pinpoint what.

The problems are invisible to the team building it. You are too close to see what a new user sees.

Trial-to-paid conversion is stuck and you can't explain why

Users email support asking how to do things that should be obvious

Activation rate is low despite a product that technically works

You've shipped features for two quarters but the metrics haven't moved

You know something is wrong with the UX but can't pinpoint what to fix first

What we audit

Eight dimensions. Every friction point.

We don't skip sections because they're hard. Every audit covers all eight layers of your product experience.

Book a call

Navigation & information architecture

Can users find what they need without thinking? We evaluate menu structure, labels, search, and wayfinding against how your actual users think.

Onboarding & first-use experience

We map every step from signup to first value and identify exactly where new users lose momentum. Usually 2–3 steps are causing most of the drop-off.

Heuristic evaluation

We evaluate against Nielsen's 10 usability heuristics — not as a checkbox exercise, but as a structured way to find where your product fights its own users.

Conversion flow analysis

We map every step from landing to paid and flag where users are dropping. For most SaaS products, 3–4 conversion blockers account for 80% of the problem.

Forms & data entry

Error handling, field validation, label clarity, required vs optional — form UX failures are the single biggest source of silent drop-off in SaaS onboarding.

Mobile experience review

Your desktop product may be solid. Your mobile experience is often a completely different story — and increasingly the primary touchpoint for users.

Accessibility & contrast audit

We flag the most common failures — contrast ratios, focus states, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility — that affect usability for everyone.

Prioritised fix roadmap

You get a ranked list of what to fix, in order of business impact. Not 40 pages. A document your engineering team can work from in the next sprint.

How it works

Five steps.
One week.
One clear path.

Every audit follows the same rigorous process. You know what happens on each day before we start.

01
Day 1

Kickoff & access

We send a briefing document. You share product access, analytics view (optional), and any context on known problem areas. 30 minutes of your time.

02
Days 1–3

Expert walkthrough

We walk through every major flow as a new user would. We record annotated walkthroughs so you can see exactly what we see and when.

03
Days 2–4

Heuristic evaluation

We evaluate every screen against Nielsen's 10 principles, WCAG accessibility guidelines, and SaaS-specific conversion best practices.

04
Days 4–6

Findings & prioritisation

Every issue gets a severity rating (Critical / Major / Minor), a business impact score, and a specific fix recommendation. Then we rank them.

05
Day 7

Report delivery & debrief

You receive the full report. We walk through it together on a 60-minute video call. You can push back on findings, ask questions, and prioritise together.

What you receive

Six deliverables.
Nothing vague.

You should know exactly what you're buying before you pay. Here is every output from every audit.

Severity-rated findings matrix

Every issue categorised as Critical, Major, or Minor — with business impact rationale so your team knows what to build in the next sprint.

Annotated screenshots

Every finding includes a screenshot with annotations. No ambiguity about which element or flow the issue refers to.

Recorded walkthrough

A screen-recorded annotated walkthrough of our audit session so your whole team can follow the reasoning, not just the conclusions.

Quick-wins list

A curated list of 5–10 fixes your team can ship in one sprint with high impact-to-effort ratio. Start here.

90-day prioritised roadmap

Findings organised into a 3-phase roadmap: sprint 1 quick wins, sprint 2–4 structural fixes, and longer-horizon redesign candidates.

60-minute debrief call

A live walkthrough of the full report. You can challenge findings, ask about implementation, and align on priorities before your next planning cycle.

B2B SaaS · Onboarding

The problem

Trial-to-paid conversion stuck at 3.1%. Product team had shipped 4 onboarding improvements in 6 months with no measurable impact.

What the audit found

Audit identified that users were abandoning at a mandatory integration step — not because the integration was hard, but because the copy implied it was required immediately (it wasn't). Two other critical issues in the activation flow were completely invisible to the internal team.

28% improvement in trial-to-paid conversion within 6 weeks of implementing the top 3 findings.

trial-to-paid improvement
Healthcare platform · Mobile

The problem

Mobile usage was 40% of sessions but mobile users completed core tasks at half the rate of desktop users. Product team assumed mobile users were different personas.

What the audit found

Audit found 11 mobile-specific friction points — form fields with no mobile keyboard optimisation, a bottom navigation that was unreachable on iPhone with standard grip, and a file upload flow that silently failed on iOS Safari.

2× improvement in mobile task completion rate. Support tickets related to mobile dropped by 60% in the following quarter.

Who it's for

Right for you if…

B2B SaaS products with a working product but declining trial-to-paid conversion

Teams preparing for a redesign who want to know what's broken before they build

Founders who feel something is off with the UX but can't put their finger on it

Heads of product who need outside perspective before their next planning cycle

Pre-product or pre-PMF teams — you need user research, not an audit

Teams looking for general design inspiration or a brand refresh

FAQ

Common questions about UX audits.

If your question isn't here, book a free call — we'll answer it.

Ask us anything

How much does a UX audit cost?

Unqode UX audits start at $800 for a focused single-flow audit. A full product audit starts at $2,000. A research-led audit (with user interviews) starts at $4,000. Final scope and pricing are confirmed on a free scoping call — we will not ask you to commit to anything before you know exactly what you're getting.

How long does a UX audit take?

A focused audit takes 5–7 business days from kickoff to delivery. A full product audit takes 10–14 business days. We give you a confirmed delivery date in writing before we start.

What do we actually receive at the end?

A structured report with a severity-rated findings matrix, annotated screenshots for every issue, a quick-wins list your team can ship in one sprint, a 90-day prioritised roadmap, and a 60-minute recorded debrief walkthrough. Not a slide deck with general observations.

Do we need to give you access to our product?

We prefer a live staging environment or a test account. If access isn't possible, we can work from a detailed walkthrough video. We'll tell you exactly what we need at kickoff.

What is the difference between a UX audit and usability testing?

A UX audit is expert-led: we evaluate your product against established usability principles without recruiting users. Usability testing is user-led: real users complete tasks while we observe. Audits are faster, cheaper, and a good first step. User testing adds real-user validation. Many clients do both — audit first to find structural issues, then user testing to validate fixes.

What if we disagree with some of the findings?

Good. The 60-minute debrief call is specifically for this. Some findings we will update based on context we didn't have. Others we will defend — and explain exactly why. You are paying for honest perspective, not a document that confirms what you already believe.

Why is your pricing lower than other agencies?

We are based in Faridabad, India. Our cost base is significantly lower than a London or New York agency and we pass that directly to clients. You get the same depth of thinking as a $5,000 Western audit. This is not a junior-team discount — Unqode audits are led by senior designers with 5–15 years of product experience.

Can the audit help with a specific industry like healthcare or fintech?

Yes. We have done UX audits for healthcare platforms (patient portals, EHR systems, telehealth apps), fintech products (trading platforms, lending flows, KYC onboarding), and B2B SaaS across categories. We will tell you if your domain requires a specialist we don't have — and recommend one if so.
